What will you learn through this course?

Ambition is the fuel that powers the leadership engine. It makes leadership purposive. Ambition has helped leaders build institutions and solve social problems. In an organisation, for personal ambition to be sustainable, it has to be supported by ambition of others. Some may see the organisational ambition as the vehicle to fulfil their personal ambition.

In this course you will learn what it means to be ambitious, how to articulate, socialize and realize your ambition. 

Approach to the Course

All of us are ambitious.  This course approaches ambition from the point of view of a leadership resource, as a fuel that powers the leadership engine. Leaders always have a vision for themselves, for those who look up to them and the organizations that they lead or are a part of. 

The approach of the course is to help you become aware, gain insights and skill practice on these elements referred to as Leadership Orientation of Ambition. (Orientations are characteristics or traits.)

The course approaches Ambition not just of the individual, but approaches it in the context of individual ambition and its alignment to Institutional ambition. We discuss the need to socialize ambition with the others involved in realizing the ambition and the consequences of vaulting ambition that can blind the individual causing overall peril to the individual as also the institution.  Ambition also requires discipline, staying invested and creating a support structure for it to be realized. 

In short, this course will  help in getting a richer understanding of ambition and the nuances involved in realizing one’s ambition. 

How is the learning structured?

This course is designed to help you uncover the dimensions mentioned above by breaking it down to learning units that are bite size and easy to consume. It is structured to help you understand the content, learn its application and reflect on your behaviour relating to it. It offers a structure to skills practice to continue beyond the course as well.

The content is structured for you to absorb, internalise, reflect, be self-aware and practice building skill in that unit of content before proceeding to the next. We recommend you learn by spending time observing, reflecting and drawing deeper insights from your environment and watching others relating to the content as well.  As you progress reflect and identify the areas you want to develop and practice skills beyond the course. 

Deep involvement in each unit of content before moving to the next will heighten your learning experience of the program.
