Learners in the normal course would not have thought of this as a Leadership Resource. This course will help them understand that TRUST indeed is a vital resource.
Approach to the Course
This course approaches Trust from the view ‘Leadership cannot be exercised without trust’. In Trust has multi-dimensional aspects. It gives character to leadership. The approaches examines the following:
What are the dimensions of trust? How is trust evoked in other people? What makes others give, or hesitate to give you trust? How do you get to be “trustworthy”? What makes the addition of trust change the quality of power? Why is trust contextual?
This course approaches Trust from the point of view of a leadership resource that is a binding force.
The approach is to help you become aware, gain insights and skill practice on these elements referred to as Leadership Orientations. Orientations are characteristics or traits.
Instead of looking at Trust as understood and dealt with as different from individual to individual in a hazy manner, the course approaches it as a resource that can be worked upon consciously and thus brings clarity to both the thought and action around Trust.
In short, this course will add a new dimension to your approach, understanding, building and retaining Trust.
